Match Report/ Match Highlights:

This was our third outing in the championship this year. Prior to this game, we were hoping for an improvement from the players on how they worked for the team when they did not have possession of the ball, in particular our forwards. The players took this message on board and we got a complete team performance. As a result, we dominated the match from start to finish. I believe we played with both method and bravery. It was a good game to watch.

The team worked there socks off..Ide like to compliment the performances of Ken, Richie, Niall and Cillian who certainly rose to the challenge of improving there game!

From the throw in we dominated possession and Sheeno was very unlucky not to take three scores over the first 5 minutes.Pereguines opened the scoring first after 6 min with a good point from play.Sheeno didn’t have to wait long to notch up his first score with a fine goal from play after 7 mins. Dalton supplied the next three points over the next 10 minutes, one from play and two from frees.Sheeno took another good point from play after 16mins, because of good link play with Chris and Barra. Barra scored a great point on 22mins.Chris got the next point from a great interchange of play with Sheeno. Peregrines got the next point on 24mins and we gave away an easy goal to them on 25 mins.Dalton responded with a super long-range point from play on 26mins.Pereguins scored the next two points. The score at half time was 1-07 to 1-04 in favour of Crokes, this did not reflect our dominance of this half, as can be seen the opposition scored 1-03 in the last five minutes

The team talk focused on upping our performance as we were now playing against the wind. We had played well but we still had a game to win and minds had to be refocused

The lads took nothing for granted over the next thirty minutes as they shifted gears to come out this half as winners .Sheeno put us on the scoreboard after 37mins with a well-taken point from 45yds.On 40mins, Eoin Mc Gabhann replaced Niall Gallagher .On 42mins Brian Hanamy took a good point from play. Gary Mc Morrow replaced Niall Mc Intyre on 45mins,. Shortly after Kevin scored from a free. Peregrines got their first score after 47 mins and followed with two points over the next 5 minutes from frees. Kevin converted 2 more points from frees on 58 and 59 mins.Fiachra replaced Barra at this time. With only one-minute left on the clock, Peregrines won a free and lobbed the ball into the square, which resulted in a goal for them. The game finished after this .The final score read 1-12 to 2-7.

On reflection the score line does not do justice to the high standard of team work shown by each and every player but will surely be improved on the next day!!

Well done lads I think we have a semi final spot in the championship.
