Match Report/ Match Highlights:

Under 16 Hurlers – Comfortable win over St Davids

On a beautiful sunny bank holiday Saturday afternoon Crokes togged out in Glenalbyn and took on St Davids, a combination of Craobh Chiaran and Parnells.

A strong opening ten minutes saw Crokes open up a commanding lead of two goals and 4 points to no score, which they were never to loose for the rest of the game. The game was effectively over at this stage and the Croke’s players treated the attending crowd to some delightful possession hurling. St Davids were limited to one converted free in the opening period and at half time Croke’s lead by 2-07 to 0-01.

In the second half, Croke’s were not as prolific on the scoring front and only added another goal and six points one point to the score board. But St Davids managed to score a goal and two points during the second half. The game ended with Crokes leading by 3-13 to 1-03.

Unfortunately, St Davids were disappointing and did not offer much of a challenge, so it is hard to read too much into this victory. The next match against Crumlin should provide the lads with a bigger challenge.
