Minors beat Vincents

In Silverpark on Wednesday 9th July 2008 the minors qualified for the final of the Summer league by accounting St. Vincents.  Goals win games and conversions by Kevin O’Loughlin (3), Brian Hanamy (who also notched 4 points) and Naomhan O’Riordain provided the foundation for a 5-9 to 1-9 victory. When Kevin O’Loughlin ran through for his first after ten minutes to give Crokes a 1-1 to 0-0 lead it looked like the Kilmacud boys might run away with the game.  However, five points on the trot from Vins put a different complexion on matters and it required 2-2 to give the home team a 3-2 to 0-5 half time advantage.  While at times in the second period Vincents narrowed the gap they never got close enough to put the result in doubt.  Apart from the goal scorers others to star were Daire Brennan, in goal, Donal Monnelly, Andrew Whelan, Killian Motherway and Niall Mulligan who scored a wonderful long range point late in the second half. 

 

The final against Na Fianna will probably be played next week.

Seniors beat Cuala

The Seniors followed up on Thursday 10 July in Silverpark with a excellent 4-10 to 2-12 victory over local rivals Cuala, on a wet and windy evening.

Subs: Rob O'Loughlin for Grogan (inj) - 25 mins, Kevin O'Loughlin for S O'Rorke (inj) - half time.
