Seniors beat Vincents, Intermedates overcome O'Tooles

On Saturday afternoon the seniors defeated St Vincent’s by 0-15 to 1-11 at O’Tooles grounds in Ayrfield Drive.  For report see HERE.  Twenty four hours later this was followed by the Intermediates 0-20 to 2-7 victory over O’Tooles in Silverpark.  Crokes led 0-8 to 0-3 at half time.  By the thirty fifth minute, thanks to points from Dara Burke (2) and Traolach O’Sullivan to one from O’Tooles, they stretched the lead to seven.  The north city team fought back and two goals had only three in it, 0-15 to 2-6, with ten minutes remaining.  Crokes then pulled out the stops outscoring their opponents five points to one, including an inspirational score from Barrai Brennan, in the time left.  Most prominent in the victory were Eamonn Sheehy, Shane Canny, Brendan Hoyne, Dara Burke and Kevin Dalton while substitute Brian Sheehan got on the scoresheet on three occasions.

Team: R Sweetnam, S Canny, F Monnelly, C Howley, E Sheehy, A McCarthy, B Brennan (0-1), M Garvey, D McSweeney, K Dalton, E Fingleton (0-1), T O’Sullivan (0-2), D Burke (0-8, f-6, 65-1), F Mangan (0-1), K Hoyne (0-4).  Subs; B Sheehan (0-3) for C Howley (inj), J Barry for R Sweetnam, B Mahon for E Fingleton, J O’Reilly for F Mangan.

Junior B’s v Nmh Fionnbarra

Gavin Hyland, Niall McIntyre, Deaglan O’Donaill at centre forward, Ian O’Keeffe and substitute Barry Gavigan were most prominent for Crokes

Punchestown Corporate Race Day

The new Hurling Arena in Glenalbyn was built at a cost of €500,000 and will be a huge addition to hurling in the club.  It is entirely funded by the Hurling Section and we still have some way to go.

Our fifth annual Kilmacud Crokes Hurling Corporate Race Day takes place in Punchestown on Tuesday 22nd April 2008 and proceeds go towards the cost of the Arena.  The event has gone from success to success and bookings are now being taken.  Donations or spot prizes remain very welcome.  Please contact Brian Geraghty, Hurling Section, Commercial Officer, 087-2312378 and brianpgeraghty@eircom.net.
