Centre stage of a varied week was Feile na nGael.  Both Kilmacud teams made it through to their respective finals in Parnell Park on Sunday 16th May 2010 where the A’s claimed Crokes third Division 1 title with a 2-6 to 0-7 win over Na Fianna while the B’s fought valiantly before going down to Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan  Ruadh in the Division 4 final.  Fuller reports and photographs will be posted later.

During the afternoon the under 9’s hosted Sarsfields from Cork in Pairc de Burca.

Secondary Schools

 

On Friday Colaiste Eoin made it a double three in a row by adding the Leinster Juvenile B title to the Dublin A title won earlier in the year with a 2-16 to 3-07 over Heywood at Dr Cullen Park, Carlow.  For report see  http://www.kilmacudcrokes-hurling.com/Home/tabid/808/ctl/Details/mid/1847/ItemID/2220/Default.aspx

Wednesday 12th May 2010 provided a feast of exciting hurling at Silverpark with two local schools (featuring twenty two Kilmacud Crokes players) coming out on top in the Special Dublin Colleges Junior Hurling finals.   For reports see http://kilmacudcrokes-hurling.com/Home/tabid/808/ctl/Details/mid/1847/ItemID/2217/Default.aspx.  Attention for the Cup winners now turns to the first year blitz on Friday 21st May 2010 in Gonzaga with visiting teams from Terenure, Templeogue and Oatlands Colleges.

Thursday evening was awards evening in St Benildus College.  Three Crokes players got special awards.  Eamon Allen was under 14 hurler of the year, Conor Devins under 16 hurler of the year and Sean Bedford 2nd year sports person of the year. To complete a good week for the school Crokes under 16 hurler Barry Horan, also a St Benildus student, was one twenty five Evening Herald School Sports Stars of the Week feted on Tuesday at a lunch in Croke Park.

 

Primary Schools

 

The series of blitzes for local national schools started this week and will continue next week when a full report will be posted.

 

County Action

 

During the week the Dublin seniors lost heavily to Tipperary (for report see http://hill16.ie/viewstoryhill16.asp?mainheading=Word+on+The+Hill&id=12479&viewstory=yes) and beat Offaly by four points on Saturday night.

On Saturday the Dublin minors snatched a dramatic victory over Carlow by 0-22 to 2-14.  For report see http://hill16.ie/viewstoryhill16.asp?id=12511&mainheading=Word+on+The+Hill&viewstory=yes.  Crokes Dillon Mulligan was on the panel. The club also had representatives on the Dublin under 16 development squad (Robert Murphy, Conor Devins and Matthew Geraghty) in a series of games in Wexford.
