Minor A's Pipped

On Sunday 28th February 2010 the minor hurling league commenced. Crokes B game against Round Towers Clondalkin in Division 3 fell victim to the weather. Silverpark 1 was able to accomodate the Division 1 tie against Lucan Sarsfields. The visitors opened strongly and were 1-2 to no score clear before the home team opened its account. By the twenty fifth minute Crokes were level at 1-4 each, the goal coming from Jonathon Healy-Hayes. The first half ended Crokes ahead 1-6 to 1-5. The home side gained the upper hand and had edged 1-8 to 1-7 to the good by the three quarter mark. A Lucan goal wrested the initiative and while the Stillorgan lads appeared to have salvaged a share of the spoils coming to the long whistle, two late Lucan overs saw the points heading to west Dublin. Final score 2-9 to 1-10.
