Week Ending 29th November 2009

Body

Saturday 28th November 2009 showed, as we said after Crokes minor county championship final nearly two weeks ago, that goals win games. It was the same story but with a less favourable outcome at a foggy Silverpark as Ballyboden edged the 2009 Dublin under 21A championship clash by 3-9 to 1-14. For report click HERE

The same cold afternoon the under 13B’s travelled to the Thomas Davis all weather pitch for a challenge against the home team. Playing against a side a division higher than them in the league the Crokes boys put in a tremendous first half performance and trailed by 3-2 to 2-2 at the break. In the second period the Kilmacud team put up an equally spirited performance and were unlucky to lose to two late goals on a 5-7 to 4-5 margin. For Crokes, Killian Fleming, Cathal Keane, Cian Montague, Desmond Dagg Fiachra O’Connor and Conor O’Dwyer starred.

Squad: Killian Fleming, Stephen McEntee, Sayeed Risvi, John Egan, Cian Montague, Cathal Keane, Ruairi Geraghty, Desmond Dagg, Barney Sultan, Shane Vallom, Tadgh Murphy, Fiachra O’Connor, Conor O’Dwyer, Niall Sweeny, Hubert Barry and Paul Comerford.

Earlier the two under 11 squads traveled to play Clontarf with outcomes as follows: Kilmacud A 2.2 Clontarf 4.3 Kilmacud B 2.3 Clontarf 2.3

The success of the club relies on volunteers and it is a great way of getting to know other parents. If you are willing to offer any assistance in any capacity, whether it be coaching, roll, setting up pitches, tidying up pitches, etc. etc. please contact any of the following:

Niall Corcoran, Club hurling coach, 087 983 4287, niall.corcoran@gmail.com
