Minor A’s beat Vincents

High point of the week was the minor “A’s” 2-13 to 1-4 win over St Vincents in Silverpark on Sunday morning.  By the fiteenth minute Crokes were 1-5 to 0-1 ahead and seemingly coasting.  However, they allowed the northsiders back into the game and but for four Vincents wides the gap might have been much tighter than 1-5 to 1-3 at half time.  The second half was a different story with Crokes domination only allowing the opposition a single point from a free.  In reply Crokes totted up 1-8.  On a morning when Crokes had many stars Conor Clinton, Mark Coughlan, William McEvoy, Eoin Culligan, Barra O’Leidhin and Kevin O’Loughlin were to the fore.  Victory gives Crokes a semi final place against St Davids.

Team:

R Tighe, S McNicholas, R O’Carroll, G McMorrow, R Walsh, W McEvoy, R O’Loughlin, E Culligan, C Clinton (0-3), B O’Leidhin (0-2), M Coughlan, N Butler (0-1), K O’Loughlin (2-3, f 1-1), B Hanamy, B O’Rorke (0-3).  Subs: S McGrath (0-1) for N Butler (inj), O Turley for M Coughlan, B Mulligan, K Motherway, C Carolan, D Monnelly, C Cunningham, C Caulfield, D Brennan, K Noctor and E O’Sullivan

Seniors go down to Cuala

On Saturday 6th Ocober 2007 the Kilmacud Crokes seniors took on Cuala in the second round robin game of the 2007 hurling championship.  A bright start saw Crokes two points clear within two minutes.  However that was as good as it got.  The remaning 58 minutes proved a tit for tat war of attrition with the Dalkey side showing more appetite and running out deserving 1-14 to 0-14 winners.  For images of this match see HERE or cllick on image below. Crokes now face Ballyboden in Parnell Park at 8.15 pm on Wednesday, in a game that will decide their champiuonship fate.

Juvenile Action

On Sunday afternoon both under 13 teams had games in Division 1 of the league.  One team playeed St Brigids in Deerpark while the other faced St Judes in Silverpark.  The Brigids encounter proved hard fought with the Kilmacud boys emerging 3-4 to 1-8 winners.  Ahead 1-2 to 0-3 at half time it took great fighting qualities to withstand heavy Brigids pressure.  Among the Crokes stars were Andrew Colclough, Mark Mannion, Oisin O’Rorke and Michael Herlihy with two well taken goals.
