U14’s Challenge v Birr

Also on Sunday the under 14’s, preparing for their championship final, likely on next Saturday, played a challenge against Birr.  Despite losing 1-14 to 2-6 the mentors felt the game was very worthwhile for the Kilmacud team.

Under 9’s and 10’s hit the road again!

On Saturday two underage teams took to the road.  For the second week running the under 10’s went to Kilkenny, this time to take part in the Dicksboro Tournament.  Having lost their opening encounter to Callan, straight out of cars, the boys did very well to win their remaining group games against Mooncoin and O’Loughlin Gaels.  This qualified them for a quarter final where they overcame Naas.  In the semi final the lads had their revenge on Callan but in the final had to give way to a very strong Dicksboro side.  For report see HERE

The under 9’s made the longer journey to Cork for games against Na Piarsaigh.  A panel of twenty travelled and played three games, winning two and drawing one.  Report to follow, so be sure to check back later!

Once again our thanks to our hosts and also to the mentors, parents and players who made the trips.  Participation in tournaments and games like this is a central part of the Kilmacud Crokes hurling blueprint.

Earlier in the week the single team under 11 squad hosted St Judes in Oatlands while the under 12B’s played Ballyboden.
