On Sunday, we were kindly hosted by Fingallians GAA club for our Div 7 Feile Final v O’Dwyers.

What a difference a day makes! After playing O’Dwyers in our Feile league on Sat, we were matched against O’Dwyers in the Div 7 Feile final the next day. While the result went our way on Saturday, we unfortunately lost the final to O’Dwyers the next day with the final score 1:1 to 1:5.  It was a well contested and lively game from start to finish.  We started very positively and worked extremely hard throughout the field. Both sides had opportunities, but we took the lead with a point and goal scored by Lara Hughes. O’Dwyers responded with a point and we went into half time ahead 1:1 to 1 point.  We had a strong squad with 7 substitutes with each girl playing their part in getting us to the final. We also drew on the full squad for the final to keep the momentum strong and give each girl the opportunity to show off their skills.

In the second half, the quality remained high with both sides putting in a huge effort, playing quality football and even providing last minute goal line saves and scores increasing the drama for the spectators.

Congratulations to O’Dwyers in their win.  We look forward to playing them again next week in the league!
