Congratulations to the U15 A Ladies Football team on their fantastic performance today against Foxrock Cabinteely  in the County Final

The venue was Naomh Olafs for this Division 1 championship final. As with the semi-final it was a beautiful sunny day with temperatures reaching a high of 18 degrees. Crokes got off to a great start with two early points, one from play and the other from a free and with a number of attacks were unlucky to add to this tally. Foxrock were awarded a penalty and duly converted, Clodagh in the Crokes goal got a touch to the shot and was unlucky not to have stopped it. Crokes responded quickly to level the score again with another converted free. Crokes were awarded another free and Emma found the net with a high lobbing shot. Up at the other end Clodagh pulled off a great save from Crokes. Foxrock then scored from a free and Crokes had three more frees which were converted by Emma leaving the half time score at Crokes 1-6 to Foxrock 1-1. On the resumption Crokes added a point from Michaela and after a few near misses Crokes stretched their lead with a goal from Lauren. Foxrock responded and applied some pressure on the Crokes defence scoring a point from a free and another from play. The Crokes defence held solid and responded with a point from a free. Points were traded over the next five minutes and Foxrock scored a goal to reduce the gap to 5 points with 7 minutes left to play. Crokes closed the game out in injury time with two converted frees from Emma. This brought to an end what was a high quality game of football played in superb conditions on a beautiful October afternoon. The cup was presented to Crokes who were worthy winners on the day.
