5K Fun Run/Walk Wraps up Kickstart Crokes programme!

Body

The Kickstart Crokes programme - which started in early January and saw members sign up for an 8 week exercise program across a number of activities including jogging, cycling, Pilates, yoga and circuit training – finished up on Sunday March 13th.

The program culminated in a 5km club & community run / walk. On a day when the weather was kind to us, circa 100 folks took part. Overall the program, which was run under the “Crokes Talks” banner, was a great success. Not only did those who took part increase the amount of exercise over the 8 weeks, but they built new and lasting friendships.

Trainers were Katie Gallagher/Lucy Mannion (Circuits), Mick Carolan, Sinead Hamill and Dermot Coogan (5K), Fiona Donovan (Yoga), Kiera Brown (Pilates), Ronnie Murray, Ronan Conway and Kevin Mulligan (Cycling), M2M Cycling group for Road Management.

We would also like to thank Glanbia, who provided some refreshing milk for the runners and also the Blackrock Garda and the group of Crokes members who ensured the run was completed safely. We hope to build on the success of this first program and develop it for next year.
