Niall Corcoran started working as a Gaelic Games Promotion Officer with Kilmacud Crokes in 2005 and joined the Kilmacud Crokes Senior Hurling team in 2008. He played with the team until recently and was a Senior inter-county player with Dublin for several years.
His role within the club is to support all coaches working at child, youth and adult level, through specifically planned courses and workshops, incorporating recognised principles of best practice in the field of coaching. “My job is also about promoting & developing GAA Sports & Kilmacud Crokes within the local primary & secondary schools, through assisting and advising teachers on coaching activities”, explains Niall.
Niall’s Coaching Philosophy is about creating an atmosphere that encourages players & coaches to learn and develop their range of skills in a positive & challenging environment.
We are excited to announce that Maria Bergin is joining the Kilmacud Crokes coaching team. Maria Bergin comes to us from her role as a GPO in Castleknock.
Maria is originally from Kildare but is now living in Dunboyne. She started playing camogie and football for Naas GAA at the age of 5 and her love for the GAA has grown ever since. She is a qualified referee also. She would say that her belief is that all children no matter what their ability should be given the opportunity to learn and participate in our native games in a safe and fun environment. She feels a child centred approach is the best way for the children to grow both on and off the field and also believes in order for this to happen coach education is of paramount importance. We are delighted to welcome Maria to the role and wish her every success in the future.
