Majella's Mega Stars head for Skerries

We had a fantastic bunch of 23 girls out for u/8 go games in Swords on Sunday, 15th. The weather was glorious and the host club, St Finians, laid on refreshments for all the girls from Crokes, Beann Eadair and themselves afterwards - a really nice gesture. I think they appreciated the long journey we had to make over to play the games!

Our girls found their rhythm in the games really quickly with some great early overs. They are getting particularly good at finding space to run into when they get possession and are working really well in their teams, with displays of some really clever passing resulting in a score. All 23 girls contributed beautifully with a lot of running, tackling, supporting each other and moving with the ball, while at the same time demonstrating some great positional awareness – all our players were disciplined to remain in defence, although they would love to have been the ones scoring! Instead they hung back, winning the ball and clearing it back to midfield and forward instead"¦in other words, doing a great job to set up the opportunities for their teammates to score.

The girls have grown hugely in competence and confidence over the last few months"¦and we are very proud of them.
