Senior Ladies
Body
The Senior Ladies squad is changing scenery this Spring, adding indoor circuit sessions and beach-training to the pre-season programme.
As much as the girls love the cold, dark evenings on the pitch (!) they'll be spending the next few Monday nights indoors, taking part in strength and stamina circuit training. There was a great turnout for the first session in St Laurences National School, Kilmacud on the 21st February, with shuttles, sit ups and sprints the order of the day. There was a lot gained during the session and the plan is to continue the indoor training, alongside floodlit, outdoor training on Wednesday nights, for the next few weeks.
Earlier in the month, the team took to the beach at Sandymount on a beautiful Saturday morning. Coach, Aodh Cronin prepared a series of drills on the strand (and water!) to put the girls through their paces, and prepare them for a return to wet, muddy fields when the Season rolls around.
The team is growing in confidence and strength and it's still only in the first few weeks of training, which can only bode well for the coming League, Cup and Championship.
