Day Trip to Limerick for the Dublin Under 13 Girls
Fifty two Dublin girls from the Under 13 County Development Squad got up early on Sunday morning, April 15th, and made their way by coach to Rathkeale, Co. Limerick to play in their first U13 Camogie blitz. This blitz involved teams from Dublin, Cork, Kerry, Tipperary and Galway, as well as the hosts Limerick. Making their Dublin debuts were Crokes girls Rachael Fleming, Hannah Cosgrave and Emer O'Rafferty who played for the Dublin Blue team and Orna McLoughlin who played on the Dublin Navy team. The blue team lost to Galway and one Limerick team and beat Kerry and the other Limerick team. The Navy team were narrowly beaten in the final by the same Galway team having dispatched Cork and Limerick on the way. The girls had a great day, played well, and are a credit to their club and county.
The Development Squad comprises of more than the 52 girls who travelled last weekend and other girls involved will play in the next blitz. Kilmacud Crokes player Charlotte O Farrell is also involved with the squad.
