Minor B's triumph against Lucan

Body

The minor B team travelled to Lucan on Sunday morning looking to put the disappointment of the 'Boden match behind them. Due to injuries we had a changed team however on a beautiful morning we got off to a flyer leading by 2 1 to 0 1 after 10 mins. All the scores came from Jonathan Hayes including one from a penalty. Unfortunately we let Lucan back into the game and after 20 minutes it was 2 4 apiece. From there to half time it was very tight with scores from Crokes coming from Ken Kelly and Eoin O'Dwyer. At half time we trailed by two points on a score of 2 8 to 2 6

With the wind at our back in the second half we equalised within a couple of minutes with points from Ken Kelly and Tom Clarke’s which was the pick of the day following a beautiful stick pass from Eoghan O’Dwyer.  Our backs came into the game with Jamie Clinton doing a super sweeping job in the half back line and James O’Keeffe magnificent at full back. Karl Russell was excellent at midfield and with Louis Whelan drove great ball into the forwards where Brian McHenry created opportunities for his colleagues. With 10 minutes to go it was level but once Jonathan completed his hat trick we pushed on with more scores from Ken and Tom to win by 6 points on a score line of 3 15 to 2 12.

Our last match in the round robin is against Raheny in two weeks time and is a must win one for the team.
