Under 9s trip to Tipp
The U9s were on the road again last weekend - Read about their latest adventure.
The U9s were on the road again last weekend. This time to Visit Nenagh Eire Og, the home Club of Rory, one of their coaches. The boys got a great welcome from Nenagh and I am sure this will be the start of many another visit. As usual the boys did themselves and their parents proud both on and off the pitch.
The highlight of the trip was a visit to Bourke Sports to see how a hurley is made. The boys, and parents, were wowed as a Hurley took shape from a piece of ash which Cathal Bourke shaped and sanded to perfection! Cathal's hurleys are used by some of the Tipperary greats such as Brendan Maher, Noel Mc Grath as well as Kilmacud Crokes own Niall Corcoran.
The Crokes boys (and a few of the coaches) left Bourkes with their new hurleys to "try" them out in Semple Stadium after the Tipperary Vs Kilkenny league game.
