Our U8 Little Stars Have Been Busy

The sun was beating down on us on the paddock on Sunday morning at 10am as we gathered our four teams to play two from St Maurs in the penultimate u8 girls football go games of the season. The competition was intense, particularly when our girls played against each other, and even after the first half game the girls were peeling off layers to cool down.
We had fine displays of football during the hour. Plenty of near-hand tackling, superb shadowing and our girls are really getting clever at escaping with the ball once they get possession. Our attempts at points were plentiful and although not always converting to a score there was no shortage of effort and intent. It is particularly heartening to see the girls gaining in confidence by the week, particularly those who tend to be more reserved and timid.
The new girls in our squad deserve a special mention – for many of them this was their first experience of go games and each and every one of them got totally stuck in and contributed massively to the success of their respective teams. Well done girls – we're delighted to have you on board!
