Week Ending Sunday 11th March 2006
The high point of the weekend of 3/4 March 2007 was the medal presentation in Glenalbyn for our victorious 2006 under 15A, under 16A and minor B teams on Saturday night, 3rd March.
Three championship winning teams feted, senior campaign gets off to a good start, under 12’s hit road to Belfast and club stalwart honoured – the principal features of a weather affected but still busy weekend. On top of this work continues apace on the Hurling Arena in Glanalbyn and Punchestown
During 2006 there were many Kilmacud Crokes Hurling highlights, on and off the field:
Three Championship Titles
New Hurling Arena - First sod turned by hurling stars
Young players from Crokes recently visited the Ollie Walsh memorial statue in Thomastown, County Kilkenny. Some say he was the greatest goalkeeper of all time. His impressive role of honour would certainly suggest so!
Highlight of the weekend was the fantastic win for the under 16A’s in the Dublin County Championship Final over neighbours Ballyboden St Endas by 1-9 to 1-8. Crokes led by 1-6 to 0-3 at half time but Boden forced their way back into the game and were a point to the good with nine minutes to go.
