Co. Board to Get Tough on Pitch Markings!!

Notice To All Clubs from Dublin CCC   (17.6.09)

CCC has recently received a number of Referees reports which reported pitches not marked, poorly flagged etc. In view of the problems that this can cause during matches and also the need for proper presentation of our Games CCC has asked me to remind all Clubs of the following CCC regulation:

Clubs shall be required to provide the following; a size 5 match football / sliother. A ground of the standard and dimensions required by Teorai Oifigúil with (a) all markings properly flagged on both sidelines, (b) pitch surface to be in order regarding safety and length of grass etc, (c) Goalposts to be properly fixed, goal nets securely fixed and suitable for Football and Hurling as required, and (d) End lines and parallelograms to be marked in full. Failure to comply - loss of points to home team should that team win or draw plus €50 fine, and a fine of €100 should that team lose.

Clubs using Dublin City or South Dublin / Dun Laoghaire / Fingal County Council or other rented grounds should note that this regulation also applies to those grounds.

CCC wishes to advise all Clubs that from now on it will apply sanctions against teams in breach of this regulation.
