Intermediates in 2009 Conlon Cup Final on 28th Oct (Wed nig
The Intermediate footballers have reached the Conlon Cup Final for the second year in a row. In their first year out of the Junior ranks this team have performed very well and finished just outside the play-off places in AFL4. Along the way they were the only team to defeat the eventual winners Clann Mhuire and picked off a number of other notable scalps along the way. Having had consolidation in AFL4 as their primary goal, they now have the added bonus of a Conlon Cup Final to look forward to. They achieved this feat after topping their group, and then beating Oliver Plunketts Eoghan Ruadha last weekend in the Semi Final by 2-6 to 0-6. This has now resulted in another mouth watering battle with St. Pat's, Donabate, the team that beat our lads in last year's Championship semi-final.
The Final is being played under lights in Balgriffin (Inishfails grounds) next Wednesday, 28th October at 8pm and it would be great to see plenty of support for what they hope will be a great end to an historic year in the Intermediate ranks.
