"PLAY THE WHISTLE" REACHES EXCITING CLIMAX THIS WEEKEND!!

The final event in our most successful Play the Whistle forecast competition is scheduled for next Sunday, several thousand miles away. New Zealand will collide with France in the final of the 2011 Rugby World Cup and only then will we know for certain who our winner will be.  If New Zealand (100 pts) can maintain their form then Philip ODwyer is assured of victory but if the enigmatic Les Blues (300 pts) can deliver one of their best then Ronan Ferry will breeze home with a full sail.  Indeed 3rd place is also up for grabs with Daves Diamanos strategically placed for a last minute smash & grab.  There has been great interest and participation in this competition which augurs well for a similar initiative in 2012, already being planned.  Its one of the few competitions around where "losers" can actually win!!  In addition to the Top 3 there are 20 prizes of €100 to be played for - are YOU still in with a shout?  Are you attacking the line hoping that France can do it or are you defending the blind side wishing for a Blackout?  There are 100 points to be had if a Kiwi raises William Webb Ellis but a victory for the Northern Hemisphere will lavish 300 invaluable points on their supporters.  In the event of tied positions after Sunday next, a public draw will be held at the special PtW night in the clubhouse on Thursday 27th October.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Perhaps an opportunity to discuss what might have been and where it all went wrong?  The committee behind Play the Whistle are planning to make an evening out of it so you can take this as advance notice - more details will follow.
