U21s BOW OUT IN SEMI-FINAL

An understrength Crokes team got the football year off to a flying start in the U21 semi-final versus Ballyboden, racing into a 0-6 to 0-1 first half lead.  Boden rallied as the half-time whistle beckoned and there was just a goal in it at the break, 1-6 to 0-6.  With the breeze favouring the Kilmacud lads in the 2nd half, hopes were high of a Co. Final appearance but Boden had other ideas.  Their work ethic and willingness to shoot for points paid rich dividends as the half progressed.  Two goals midway through the half, the first a fortuitous penalty, proved decisive and the Templeogue men were convincing 2-9 to 1-7 winners at the end.  The fact that Crokes could only manage a solitary point in the 2nd half ultimately told the tale of this disappointing result.
