Busy Period ahead for Crokes hurlers
First up is the annual Kilmacud Crokes on Tour to Kilkenny on Sunday 1st April. This is a bumper day out with 250 young hurlers (under 11 downwards) travelling for games against local opposition, followed by the Kilkenny –v- Galway National Hurling League game and an opportunity to meet Kilkenny players at a meal in the famous Langtons afterwards. Further details are available from Denis Gorey 087-2393625 and goreys@clubi.ie.
Meanwhile work continues apace on our new Hurling Arena in Glenalbyn. This €500,000 project will be a huge addition to hurling in the club and is entirely funded by the Hurling Section mainly from the proceeds of our annual Kilmacud Crokes Hurling Corporate Race Day.
This takes place in Punchestown on Tuesday 24th April. The day has gone from strength to strength. With an attendance of over 1,000 people it is by far the biggest social event in the club and a great opportunity to meet and mix. Whether you want to come along as an individual, as a part of a group or if you are in a position to influence your company’s entertainment spend we would be delighted to hear from you. At €175 per head you won’t find better value or quality. Please contact Brian Geraghty, Hurling Section, Commercial Officer, 087-2312378 and brianpgeraghty@eircom.net. Donations or spot prizes also very welcome.
On the field five teams, the Intermediates, Junior B’s, Junior 5’s, Minor A’s and Minor B’s all have April championship dates while the regular league programmes continues for all our twenty hurling teams. For details keep an eye on our website here, www.hill16.ie or the Evening Herald on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Our local schools will also be in action in Cumann na mBunscoil competitions and the best of luck to them
