Scor
A Chairde,
We are getting close to the 'closed season' and you may be wondering how to keep your teams together over the winter months. Here's an idea!
Barbara O'Neill is the Culture & Language Officer for the GAA in Dublin and looks after Scór in the County. Dublin haven't won a competition [lads and lassies] in Scór na nÓg for 19 years!!! and never won in 4 of the categories.
I have attached details and encourage your Club to consider participating (click on the 'signature' link!). Dublin needs to be put back on the map!
Also you will find the Calendar of Events attached.
One NEW feature is the Table Quiz 'as Gaelige' for primary school age kids.
It would make a great event if several of our U11 and U12 teams took part! The plan is that each club would organise their own quiz, either within the club or through local schools and we will then hold a county Final in March to tie in with Coicis na Gaeilge. So get on to your Club Committees, get the lads organised and give it a go!
Finally, Barbara reminds me that Coiste Gaeilge Laighin has an excellent website (click on the image on the left) and she urges you all to have a look at it. Among other things, it has all the terminology that you need if you are interested in using more Irish in training sessions. It also has all the terminology needed to introduce more Irish into the various meetings which might be held in a Club. Please have a look at it and make use of it.
