Scor/GAA Oral History Project/ Coiste Gaeilge Laighean

I would like to make Clubs aware of 2 particular GAA links which may be of interest. First of all as part of the GAA 125 celebrations they are conducting an Oral History Project. This is the link : http://www.bc.edu/centers/irish/gaahistory/home.html.  

Basically they are looking for your memories both written and photographic, your opinions on changes in the GAA etc. Anything that gives them a picture of the importance of the GAA in people's lives. They also have questionnaires for those with the time and interest in contributing further. Just follow the link above and you will get all the information you need.  

The other link I'd like to bring to your attention is http://www.cgl.ie/   This is Coiste Gaeilge Laighean, the committee with the remit of promoting the Irish language in Leinster. Among other resources that they've developed is a glossary of useful terminology as gaeilge both for use on the training groung and at meetings. They also have a particular section to which I'd like to draw your attention. It's called 'An  Club Seo Againne' where a club member, preferably a yooung member describes the club and what it means to them. I'd like to see more Dublin clubs contrubuting to this section. With regard to Scor in the county, the timetable for the coming year will be set shortly. I'd lik opinions from clubs as to whether we should hold the Scor na nOg county final on a Saturday night as we did last year or should we revert to midweek. Also I'd like your opinions as to suitability of venues or other potential venues for Scor na nOg, Scor Sinsear or Scor na bPaisti or indeed the tabke quizes as Gaeilge. We also need to get more people actively involved as our activities are restricted by having a very small committee, so if you have an interest in getting more involved in Scor or in the promotoin of the Irish language in the county, please get back to me.  

Finally Scor is 40 years old this year and we'd like to mark that in this county. Do you or anyone else in your Club have photos, records in the Club archives etc. that you'd be willing to share with us, or indeed any ideas as to how we should celebrate the 40th anniversaary?
