Second win for Senior A's in Championship
Crokes survive early scare against Parnells
It was a bright but chilly evening in Parnell Park, for this second championship outing.
Crokes were out of the blocks early and Caolan Conway pointed within a minute of throw-in. However, Parnells hit back quickly and had scored 1-01 within five minutes. But that was to be their last score until close to the short whistle. Crokes scored a further nine points, including five converted frees by Oisin O Rorke, before Parnells had their next over. Half time Crokes 0-11, Parnells 1-04.
Parnells didn't score again until midway through the second half, by which stage Crokes had added a further five to their tally. Following a very brief rally by the Coolock team (resulting in two pointed frees), Crokes added another eight points, to finish 0-24 to 1-06 victors.
During the match the Crokes team wore Green Ribbons as part of the initiative to encourage clubs and communities of Dublin GAA to start the conversation about mental health. For more on this initiative click HERE.
