Senior B's Beat Raheny
Kilmacud Crokes 4-10, Raheny 2-12.
There were some heart-stopping moments in this championship encounter, played in sunny Silverpark on Wednesday 23rd May 2012. Raheny played some great hurling and battled gamely to the final whistle. It was nip and tuck all the way and we just got over the line in the final few minutes - a well taken goal by Alex Pilkington clinched it in Crokes favour.
Crokes got out of the blocks quickly and registered three un-answered points. It looked like an easy night for the home side but Raheny had other ideas and scored two quick goals. However, Crokes fought back and levelled the scores before half-time; 2-06 apiece.
The second half was hard fought, with both sides giving as much as they got, but Crokes just shaded it in the end, thanks mainly to good performances by Aodhan and Eoin de Paor, Barry Mulligan, Donal mcGovern, Alex Pinkington and Conor Sheehan. Both Tom Clarke and Dec Brown came on and did very well.
Scorers for Crokes were: Donal mcGovern 1-03, Alex Pilkington 1-01, Fergal Armstrong 0-02(2f), Barra oLaighin 0-01, Aodhan de Paor 0-01(f), Tom Clarke 1-00, Dec Brown 0-01(f), Alan Tiernan 1-00, Conor Sheehan 0-01.
