Seniors beat Brigids to progress to Semi Final
Senior A quarter final championship action from O'Toole Park
Following a five week break from competitive hurling, the Crokes Senior Hurlers were back in action last Sunday against St Brigids in the Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Final. Brigids opened the scoring with a converted free, but then Crokes took over and ran up two goals and six points to a further 2 points from Brigids in the first half, with Crokes playing well all over the park.
The second half saw Brigids come out all guns blazing and in the first 10 minutes opened with three unanswered points from converted frees, the remainder of the half was a nip & tuck affair with Crokes building on their lead by adding points, while Brigids remained in contention by adding two goals, but it was Crokes who finished the stronger and ended the game with a 5 point winning margin, 2-13 to 2-08.
Some very good hurling played by both sides on the day, but Crokes will have to notch up another gear for next Saturday's Semi Final against a fancied Lucan Sarsfields side who had a comfortable win over O'Toole's in their Quarter Final.
