Strong 2nd half fightback by Senior A's v Boden falls just short

Boden win AHL1 clash by narrowest of margins.

The match got under way following an impeccably observed minute's silence in honour of Dave Billings, who died suddenly during the week - and whose funeral takes place tomorrow, Saturday (for details see HERE)..

Boden were out of the blocks fast and had built up a 7 point lead within the first 15 minutes. Crokes were doing well to hang on and were probably lucky to be only 5 points in arrears at the short whistle. Half time; Boden 0-12, Crokes 0-07.

After the break Crokes came more into the game, with a number of positional switches and substitutions making some difference. Indeed, as the half moved towards the final whistle Crokes eventually drew level (0-17 apiece). However, deep into injury time, a free conceded in midfield afforded the home team the opportunity to pull ahead again. Crokes might still have salvaged a point from a free but the shot was not converted and that proved to be the last play of the match.
