U14's v Holycross
At the same time the Under 14’s were travelling to Holycross, Co. Tipperary to play the local club, who were the 2007 Tipperary Under 12 champions. This was a game of two halves, played in wet and windy conditions, including a driving sleet shower. The first half opened with a point by Holycross. Crokes struck back almost immediately with a goal by Dara O Gallchobhair from a high ball. Three fine points – two from frees – were scored by Cian MacGabhann and Mark O Loughlin. Following some nice passing moves Donal Keane hit the back of the net with a well earned goal. Moments later young Keane followed up with a point. Two further points followed from Dara Mullen and Dara Ó Gallchobhair. Mark O Loughlin pointed a free and Crokes finished the first half 2-7 to 0-2 ahead. A more clement second half saw the mid Tipp lads gain the ascendancy and add six points to Kilmacud’s no score. Midfielders Stephen Faughey and Cian MacGabhann worked tirelessly to provide the forwards with scoring opportunities. And following some excellent defending by the backs and half backs, at the final whistle it was 2-7 to 0-8 to Crokes, a good result under the circumstances.
Team: C Hayes, S Bedford, O O’Siochru, G Healy-Hayes, M O’Dwyer, D O’Murchu, R Horgan, S Faughey, C MacGabhann (0-02, 1f), C McIntyre, M O’Loughlin (0-02, 2f), D O’Gallchobhair (1-01), D Mullen (0-01), D Keane (1-01), K O’Flanagain. Tipperary v Dublin
Having enjoyed our hosts’ kind hospitality in the John Doyle Centre, a credit to the community spirit of the home club, the Crokes youngsters then headed for Semple Stadium to see the Dubs take on Tipperary in the National Hurling League. Despite a second half resurgence, Dublin, with Croke's Niall Corcoran at right corner back, fell short by two points, 2-19 to 4-11. For report check www.hill16.ie

Punchestown Corporate Race Day
The new Hurling Arena in Glenalbyn was built at a cost of €500,000 and is a huge addition to hurling in the club. It is entirely funded by the Hurling Section and we still have some way to go. Regular users will have noticed some recent additions such as the installation of external lights, enhanced door security and cameras.
Our sixth annual Kilmacud Crokes Hurling Corporate Race Day takes place in Punchestown on Tuesday 28th April 2009 and proceeds go towards the cost of the Arena. The event has gone from success to success and bookings are now being taken. Donations or spot prizes remain very welcome. Parental Assistance
We appeal to all parents of the new group to offer assistance in any way possible. No previous coaching experience is required and even periodic help is better than none at all. The success of the club relies on volunteers and it is a great way of getting to know other parents. If you are willing to offer any assistance in any capacity, whether it be coaching, roll, setting up pitches, tidying up pitches, etc. etc. please contact any of the following:

Quote from Parent
“As a parent who has 5 children in the club and 2 more about to start, I have got to know more people since I started helping out with my 5th child that I did bringing all my other children to training and matches. Your child will love to see you getting involved. And remember, these parents are the people you will be standing with on the sideline of pitches for the rest of your son's playing career! Many helpers lighten the load for everybody.”
