Crokes Talks Sports Inclusion Program

Body

As members will likely know, Kilmacud Crokes has an established focus on health and wellbeing in the club under the tag line of Crokes Talks.

Since this focus was started a number of years ago, we have sought to broaden the dimension of the club in the area of health and wellbeing by running a number of initiatives under the Crokes Talks banner to broaden the influence and interests of the club in the area of health and wellbeing for our membership and the local community.  In that regard, we are looking to start a new project.  We believe that People with disabilities deserve the same rights to be active as everybody else.  We believe that sport and physical activity for people with disabilities is a means of enhancing life, increasing social interaction, improving physical and mental health and empowering people in all aspects of their lives. We are looking to start a conversation in the club with interested parties on how we could implement a Sports inclusion program for people with disabilities.   If you have an interest in this area, have a child with a disability, have a disability yourself, want to get involved as a coach or just want to help out in some small way, we want to hear from you.

Please drop an e-mail with your name, contact details and area of interest with regard to this program to info@kilmacudcrokes.com.  We will hold a meeting in the Club on Wednesday January 11th at 8:30pm with interested parties with a view to getting a program up and running by the end of February 2017.
