The Club is sad to advise members of the death of Maura Maher. Maura was a founding member of our club and,  together with her late husband Michael, made a huge contribution across all the activities of the club throughout those early days and the succeeding decades. Maura was the mother of Dermot,  Noreen, Evelyn, Ann and the late Marie and Ger. The Maher family have been at the centre of our club since the beginning and we send our sincere sympathies to them all. We were proud only a couple of weeks ago to note that Maura achieved the milestone of her 100th birthday. May she rest in peace – imithe ar slí na fírinne.  Funeral details below:

MAHER (née Cronin), Maura, Kilmacud, Co. Dublin (formerly of Gneevguilla, Co. Kerry, and Mallow, Co. Cork) on 7th February 2024, peacefully, just 2 weeks after her 100th birthday.

Widow of Michael and beloved mother of Evelyn, Dermot, Marie (recently deceased), Ann, Noreen, Ger (recently deceased) and Helen. She will be sadly missed by her loving family including her daughter-in-law, her sons-in-law, her grandchildren: Ciaran, Ann-Marie, Dan, Alan, Declan, Niamh, Aoibheana, Etain, Eleanor, Tom, Megan, Sara, Brian, Finn, Luke, Aidan & Alex and her great-grandchildren, her brother, John, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and neighbours.

Reposing in Massey’s Funeral Home, Blackrock, A94 X308 on Monday 12th February from 5pm-7pm. Maura’s Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, 13th February, at 10am in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, (D6W HY98).
