2012 ADULT FOOTBALL LEAGUES COMMENCE

The busy look of the Fixtures page (“KC Fixtures-CCC”) for the weekend ahead tells its own tale, despite one key fixture not being displayed (by CCC).  Yes, the Dublin Leagues are about to start and our 6 adult teams are all primed for action.   The missing fixture happens to be the novel pairing of our 2 Senior teams in AFL2 on Sunday morning (10.30am Silverpark).  Here, alone, there should be enough excitement for all of us as new “A” Team manager, Hugh Kenny, makes his debut against the Pat Burke managed, and newly promoted, “B” team.  Both managers are proud holders of All Irl club medals and know all about the game at the highest level.  To add to the uniqueness of this particular game, Pat Senior will also be trying to outwit his son, Pat, who is a leading player with the “A” team.  How much more intriguing can it get?

All of our teams will have their own ambitions, hopes and targets for the year.  There has been intensive training and various challenge games over the past few weeks.  Indeed for many of our emerging U21 stars the competitive season has been underway from the start of the year!

Best wishes to all involved, here’s wishing each team a great season ahead.  Let's get out and support them and, at the same, time, monitor the wonderful young talent blossom with every game!
