Intermediates draw with Thomas Davis

Body
Kilmacud Crokes started the game brightly and notched up some early points the most notable a great running score from Mick Dalton. The last 20 minutes of the second half was dominated by Thomas Davis and while the backs were clearing a lot of ball and appeared to be on top they eventually conceded two soft goals to leave the score at 2-2 to 0-4 at half time. After some stern words from Joe O’Reilly at half time Kilmacud Crokes started the second half into the wind with a much improved attitude. The turning point of the second half was the introduction of Diarmuid Howley who after 10 minutes made an immediate impact by winning a great ball beating two players and crashing the ball to the roof of the net. From here on in the game was nip and tuck with both teams trading points. Tom Donoghue plucked three great balls from the air in the last ten minutes when the game was up for grabs and indeed it was Tom who scored the equaliser in the dying seconds to earn Crokes a deserved draw in what was a good hard encounter. Kilmacud Crokes will need to improve on this outing for their Championship match on Saturday (6.30 Silverpark) if they are to overcome Setanta.
