Seniors beat St Martins of Wexford

The senior hurlers had a useful work out in Silverpark on Monday 30th June 2008 against St Martins of Wexford.

Both sides were missing their intercounty contingent and some others.  The chance to shine was taken in fine style by other panel members, chief among them Shea Gillen with 1-2, Michael Dalton, whose high catching was a feature, Rory O’Carroll at centre back and, especially in the early stages, Niall Butler.  Also to the fore were Adrian Grogan and Eoin Fitzgerald.

In a high scoring game the lead changed several times and the greatest margin was six points in Crokes favour by the fiftieth minute.  At the interval the home team led 1-11 to 1-10.  They fractionally exceeded double the score in the second half, running out 2-23 to 1-22 winners.
