Body

The U10 hurlers fielded 41 players against arch rivals Na Fianna on a bitterly cold bank holiday Monday (March 19th) and performed impressively.

In one game, an 11-a-side against Na Fianna's strongest team, 'Crokes blitzed the visitors with a powerful first half performance that saw them lead by 8-2 to nil at half time. Alex Considine was excellent at full forward and he was ably assisted by Cillian Fleming, Feargal Whitely and Brian Grogan. Callum Pearson and Conor O'Dwyer competed well at midfield while Cathal Keane, Chris Kealy, Stephen Mcentee and Eoin Sheehy snuffed out most Na Fianna attacks. The scoreline might suggest that is was one way traffic but Stevie O'Dwyer was busy enough in goal and dealt with everything that came his was calmly and effectively. There was never going to be any way back for Na Fianna but to their credit they battled well in the second half, the game finishing on a 10-8 to 1-4 scoreline.

On the adjoining pitch there was a round robin 11-a-side blitz between 2 Crokes teams and one Na Fianna team. Each team finished up with a win in three well contested games. Impressive performers were Luke Gaffney, Johnny Maher, Martin Connor, Louis DeCourcy, Sean Gorman, Daniel Lenehan, Hugh Campion, Joey Dalton, Adam Tuck, Mattie Hogan and Jamie Dixon.
