Kilmacud Crokes Under 10's had their first trip on the road on Sunday March 25th.  Down the N11 we went with a strong team to take on Naomh Eanna – the team that beat us in the final of the KC U9 tournament in Glenalbyn last October. A game of two halves with Crokes having the better of the first half, striking the net 4 times. Crokes got off to a flying start with early goals from Callum Pearson and Alex Considine.  Callum scoring his goal from a 21 yard free – ignoring the coaches advice to put it over the bar!  With strong displays from Fergal Whitely in midfield and Fiachra O’Connor in the forwards Crokes went in at half time 4-1 to 2-0 in front.  This Naomh Eanna team were then spurred into action and opened the second half scoring with a goal.  However, Crokes replied with a goal of their own.  Naomh Eanna then piled on the pressure scoring two goals to Crokes one to bring to match to a one point game; 5-01 to 5-00.  Crokes put Cathal Keane in full back to steady the ship and between him and Darragh Butler they snuffed out many Naomh Eanna chances.  Crokes scored a couple of points to ease the pressure before Naomh Eanna responded to a Crokes goal with a goal of their own.  The pressure was on in the last few minutes and some interplay between Cillian Fleming and Tom Fox helped clear the lines twice.  Crokes ran out winners by 6-4 to 6-1 in a very entertaining match.

U10's beaten by St Judes in Glenalbyn

Our Under 10's also played St Judes on the all-weather pitch in Glenalbyn on Sunday 25 March. A very competitive match was not reflected in the scoreline of 8 goals to 2 for the visitors. Judes had 3 or 4 strong players up the middle who were capable of dominating proceedings but apart from them the standard was fairly even.

Daniel Lenehan, in the first half, and Gavin Rundle in the second, were excellent in goal while Hugh Campion, Eoghan Alton, James Smith, Killian Lanigan, Mattie Hogan and Jamie Dixon were best for the home team.
