Mark O’Loughlin opened the scoring with two points  for Crokes on this dull but dry morning in Silverpark, one from a free. Na Fianna responded immediately with a goal and two points ( points from frees). Crokes notched up four more points (two frees) by Mark, to pull a point in front. Two more frees for Crokes. However, Na Fianna piled on the pressure scoring two goals and three points, for a seven point lead at half time.

Crokes needed to lift it in the second half. With the half time pep talk still ringing in their ears, Ciaran McIntyre found the back of the net with a great strike. Cian MacGabhann (2) and Dara O Gallchobhair added three scores but Na Fianna struck back with five points, to pull six ahead. The fight back continued, with goals from super sub Kevin O Flanagain and Donal Keane. Further points by the northsiders were answered by two frees by Mark and a netted free by Cian MacGabhann. As the game drew to a close Crokes were now three ahead. However a last minute goal by Na Fianna resulted in a draw.

A brave fight-back by the 2009 Div 1 U14 Champions, showing the fighting spirit which has brought them three Division One titles (U12, U13 and U14) in a row.
