Very Successful Weekend for Hurlers

A near 100% success rate tells the story of Kilmacud Crokes hurling weekend of 25/26/27 August 2006.

First up were the under 13’s who went down by six points to Ballinteer in the championship on Friday evening.

On Saturday afternoon the seniors defeated Naomh Mearnog in O’Toole Park by 2-17 to 1-9 to secure a championship quarter final place.  At the other end of the age spectrum the under 8’s travelled to take part in the Gorey tournament and having won five games went down narrowly to the hosts in the final.  On the intercounty front Eoin Culligan and Kevin O’Loughlin were on the Dublin under 16 panel for the All-Ireland tournament in Tipperary.

On Sunday morning the under 15’s defeated Kevins at Silverpark to go through to their championship final while at Sean Moore Park the intermediates had a good three point win over the home club Clanna Gael Fontenoy.  Having already secured a quarter final spot this result gives them an automatic semi final berth. 

Also on Sunday morning two under 12 teams were victorious over visiting James Stephens teams from Kilkenny at Deerpark. (For images from the U12 matches click HERE)
