Tough match in tough conditions

A miserable, wet and windy day in Portmarnock didn't make for ideal hurling conditions for this fixture. Crokes battled hard and were perhaps unfortunate to finish the first half two points down. Story might have been different if more scoring opportunities had been taken.

In the second half Naomh Mearnog seemed to have the edge physically and mentally, winning more of the breaking ball. Croke's cause was further dented following a red card, meaning the visitors finshed the match 6 points and a man down.
