Depleted Crokes match tough Judes, as points shared.

The Senior A's were up against it in this bruising encounter with St Judes. With many of the Senior A panel unavailable it was an opportunity for the younger contingent to prove their abilities. The Tymon men probably expected the Crokes youngsters to buckle as a result of their physical and robust approach. However, they stood firm, gave as good as they got and might have won it in the end. At half time Crokes led by 0-10 to 0-06.

Judes came back strongly after the short whistle and overtook the home team, taking a two point lead as full time approached. However, with the benefit of youth, resilience - and some great hurling skills - Crokes again forged ahead. It took a last gasp point by Judes, in the fifth minute of injury time, to draw level. Earlier in the second half Crokes had a goal disallowed, much to the annoyance and irritation of the home crowd.

All in all not a bad result for the depleted home team - and a good game of hurling to boot!
