Minor Bs claim League title
Kilmacud won the Minor Football Division 2 League after a great win away from home versus Fingallians last Sunday morning. Though missing key players Brian Hanamy (county trials), Donal Munelly and Cormac Bonner (injured), Crokes won out in a very keenly fought contest on a score of 2-5 to 1-7. A well taken penalty by the ever accurate Conor Tiernan put Crokes back in the lead in the second half,. To their credit Fingallians hit back with a brace of pts from frees. However, Crokes had the greatest hunger for this one and Shane Horan kept them ahead with a fine individual pt from play.
After the final whistle blew there was great celebration by all the lads as this was the culmination of a very successful season. The team was only beaten once in the league and once in the championship and both times by a point!
Congratulations to the squad and to the management team of Macartan Mc Cague, Greg O Brien and Tony Gallagher!!
