Minor B's win Div 6 Shield Final

Kilmacud Crokes Minor B team win Div 6 Shield Final

A battling performance in Pairc de Burca saw our Minor B team beat a strong St. James Gaels side and win the Div 6 Shield on a 6-5 to 2-5 scoreline.

This is the first year that Kilmacud Crokes have fielded a second Minor team and the girls have been building momemtum all season.  Despite losing midfielder Kate Murphy to an early injury, they started the game strongly and scored a couple of early goals.  Forceful and quick tackling saw Crokes continue to press early, but Gaels recovered well and were strong and skilful in attack.

Gaels continued to fight back after half time and were eating into the Crokes’ lead, but gradually Kilmacud’s defence and midfield  gained the upper hand.  With a steady supply of ball, the forwards displayed some excellent movement and link-up play to create a succession of top class goals and points.... and make history for the Club!!
