Under 9's Win Tournament in Fine Style. Championship Semis Looming

Body

With nearly all eyes on next Sunday’s county senior hurling championship semi final against St Vincents (Parnell Park at 2.00pm) this was a relatively quiet hurling week.

Stand out event was the Travelers Insurance sponsored under 9 tournament at Glenalbyn on Sunday 17th October 2010.  On a very pleasant day we had as visitors:

“A” Tournament - James Stephens (Kilkenny), Naomh Eanna (Wexford), Sarsfields (Cork), Na Fianna (Dublin) and Erins Own (Kilkenny).  One Kilmacud Crokes team also took part.

“B” Tournament - Na Fianna (Dublin), Bray Emmets (Wicklow), Ballyboden (Dublin) and Faughs (Dublin).  Two Kilmacud Crokes teams participated.

An exciting and high quality A Cup final saw Crokes recover from a 1-3 to 0—0 half time deficit and claim the trophy by 3-11 to 1-3 against James Stephens.

Junior A's

On the same day the Junior A’s promotion drive suffered a setback with a loss to Castleknock in AHL5 at Silverpark.  At the same venue the minors played host to St Patricks Portaferry from Co Down for a challenge.

Football Success!

In football we congratulate the senior footballers on their impressive Sunday championship final win over St Brigids.

U14's and U13's action

On Saturday the under 14’s beat Clontarf by 5-11 to 2-10 in St Anne’s Park with Eoin Keane, Mark McCallion and Sean Crowe shining in an improved second half performance.  An under 13’s squad came home from Greystones as Shield winners defeating Kiltale (Meath) in the final having beaten Crannsfort (Wexford) and lost to Mount Leinster Rangers (Carlow) on the way.

A meeting for parents of new boys who have recently started at the Kilmacud Crokes Hurling Nursery was held in Glenalbyn on Tuesday September 28th.  At the meeting Hurling Coach Niall Corcoran outlined the coaching aims that we are trying to achieve within the nursery as well as outlining how the hurling nursery is structured.  We got a good response from parents that were willing to help out in the nursery, which is crucial to the success of the nursery.

We would encourage anybody who is interested in giving a hand out at the nursery to make him or herself known to Niall or the head coach organising a particular skills station on the morning.

When parents and children arrive in the morning, Marion will be taking the registration for both the 2005 & 2004 groups.  If anybody is in a position to help with registration please make yourself known to Marion at the start of the session.
