Seniors dig deep to beat Naomh Mearnog
The Crokes Seniors headed out to Portmarnock on their latest quest for points in this year's league on Wednesday 4 July 2012. Recent results have not been good, despite playing well in patches against both Vincents &Cuala.
Despite all the recent rain, the Naomh Mearnóg pitch was in good condition and in sunny conditions, Crokes brightly and continued to dominate the first period and went into the break in the lead.
At the restart, Crokes continued to dominate and stretched into a 10 point lead but Mearnóg upped their game and hit a purple patch mid way through the half and tagged on two goals to narrow the lead. After that it was nip and tuck between the two sides and at the final whistle, Crokes were leading by 6 points and came away with two valuable points. Next up is a home game against St Brigids on Sunday evening (6:30pm in Silverpark).
