Seniors beat Lucan to reach Final
Two second-half goals proved crucial as Kilmacud Crokes overcame Lucan Sarsfields with a 10-point margin in their Dublin SHC 'A' semi-final at Parnell Park on Saturday evening.
The opening half was a tight affair, with both sides defending strongly, leaving little opportunity for either set of forwards to impose themselves. At the break, Lucan held a narrow five point to four lead. The bulk of these 9 points being from placed balls, the highlight being a converted sideline ball from Crokes.
Crokes opened the stronger in the 2nd half, but the turning point in the game was when Crokes scored a goal following a Lucan free that rebounded off the Croke’s crossbar. A few minutes later Crokes consolidated their lead with another goal and from then on, the result never looked in doubt.
The game ended with Crokes leading 2-12 to 0-07. A disciplined performance by Crokes, who will now face off against near neighbours Cuala in the County Final on the 14th October
