REPORT, PHOTOS AND SUPPORT FOR U16s - CO. FINAL 25/5/13
Kilmacud Crokes 0-6 Ballymun 0-14
With 10 minutes gone in the second half of this tightly contested, absorbing championship final in Parnell Park, Crokes were just 3 points behind and on a roll. All the momentum was with the young southsiders. In what was probably the key moment of the game, an absolutely outstanding full length save from the Mun goalkeeper prevented what seemed a sure goal for Crokes. The ball was eventually cleared. Mun worked their way to the far end of the field and scored a point to leave four between the teams. Thereafter they found their composure again and got the next 4 scores to win eventually by 8 points. CLICK HERE FOR FULL REPORT

Call to Arms - Please support Crokes U16 footballers
Kilmacud Crokes U16 footballers continued their recent good form with two very good league wins in the last week, the first over old rivals Na Fianna, who Crokes had not beaten in league fare previously, and the second over St Annes, promoted to Division 1 of the league this year for the first time. This is all in preparation for the big one, Crokes clash against Ballymun Kickhams in the county final next Saturday at 3.30 in Parnell Park. This is a huge challenge for the young Crokes lads against the multi-decorated Ballymun team who won the All Ireland Feile at a canter in their year and the Under 15 County Championship last year. They have won also all their league matches comfortably this year to date.
Crokes, meantime, after a very slow start to this year's league, including an absolute trouncing by Ballymun in the first outing, have improved steadily to this point, having won their last 4 league matches and three championship matches and are running into good form at the right time. Ballymun will, by right, start as very strong favourites for this match but like every final, it's a once off and it all comes down to whichever team performs best on the day.
So all support is very welcome - come to Parnell Park next Saturday and cheer on the next generation of Crokes footballers.
