U13's beat Skerries Harps
Our U13 hurlers took the long trek to the seaside town of Skerries on Saturday. This outing was to prove very productive, in that all points were bagged in what was a very impressive display in the first League match of the season. Barry O’Farrell, although the smallest player on the pitch, was outstanding in midfield. Alex Pilkington, arguably man of the match, was in top form at centre back. This meant that supply of good ball to the forwards was plentiful. With Fionnan Motherway leading the scoring with an outstanding personal tally of 1-6 and Justin Cassidy not lagging behind scoring 1-5, this ball was not wasted. Patrick Tighe, as Full forward gave a sterling display adding 2-1. The back-line ably marshalled by Jack O’Brien, as full back, was not put under pressure during this somewhat one-sided encounter. The final score of 5-18 to 3-3 is an accurate reflection of the proceedings. The U13s take on Lucan Sarsfields next.
